Lightroom 4.3 Retina, Here at last…
Retina Support
Improving my Video workflow
Please see this post explaining why Retina support was a hold out for me for my video workflow.
As always, clicking on my screen captures shows the full res version to see my actual Retina pixels, 1800 x 2880.
If you zoom in and look at the whiskers you see the difference.

Other reasons I’m switching
Combined Photo and video work flow -(yes this is different)
I think the best explanation is to watch this free intro video on what these cinematographers and photographer couple call, Fusion Storytelling. This video explains it. It’s from this series on Creative Live. They think in the not too distant future my art will be known as media capture.
Lightroom 4 added the ability to use the develop adjustments from a photo and paste them on a video. This is mainly useful for those in this Fusion realm.
(Update. As it turns out this ability to paste photo adjustments to videos has limited benefit for me because I do my video editing in Premiere Pro. The edits to the videos and stills in your LR catalog are not available in Premiere Pro. Another downside is that LR can’t play videos in slideshow mode. So I import everything into Aperture just to play a slideshow!)
Little Things
-Slide show does have more tweaking options, including repeat. Repeat may seem like a silly thing, but try having to start the slideshow again if you are using it as part of a professional presentation. It doesn’t give a good impression.
-Better third party support like for Color Checker Passport.
More
I keep a running list of all the differences between Aperture 3 and Lightroom 4 here.
My wish list for Aperture 4 is here.
